Selma (film critique) By Cesar Reyes

We have all grown up being taught about Dr Martin Luther King Jr. And how he helped lead the civil rights movement. The movie Selma gives you a different insight into what kind of man he was. His personal struggles, fears, and what motivated him. You will see a man who has a heavy cross to carry, but who chooses to carry it even though he doesn't have to. The movie Selma is a good movie, and it's sad that the country went through this type of injustice at one time. The movie is not exactly historically accurate in its portrayal of every detail of its events , but I do believe that the goal that director Ava DuVernay was trying to accomplish was to tell the story of a man and the struggle of a people who wanted what was guaranteed to all Americans.

American Sniper (film Critique) By Cesar Reyes

Anybody who is pro military should go see this movie. The movie is very powerful in its approach to telling the story of Chris Kyle. It puts a face on the Iraq War and all those who fought in it and the lives that they were trying to pick up where they had left them. We all lived through the Iraq war, and the war unlike all wars before it did not require much of a sacrifice from most of us. There was no military draft like in Vietnam . It's not like we had to ration all the metal like we did in WW2. The reason for this is because of American heroes like Chris Kyle, who put their lives on the line to protect our freedoms, and to defend the lives of their fellow soldiers. The movie will make you tear up, it's sad but real. And unfortunately that's life. I've seen all the movies nominated for an academy award this year . I can tell you with great certainty that Bradly Cooper's portrayal of Chris Kyle is one that should get him an academy award.
