Quiet and Still with God on my Mind. By Cesar Reyes Torres

Sometimes when it's quiet and I sit and I find my self frustrated with certain challenges that I face I ask God to please let me know he's there...then I am reminded that somewhere in the world there is someone who is praying on his knees with tears in his eyes that he could be where I am now, in a comfortable chair, in a warm room, eating a plate of food with their mother...and it is in this thought process that I immediately turn from being in a state of vulnerability to being in a state of appreciation for all of the blessings God gives me everyday, and I then ask and prey for all those Men, Women and Children who do not have nearly the same, may they find refuge in your arms my lord, and may their suffering end soon. While I know God will never forget about me or any of us, the challenges I face will be overcome as I feel God in my life and for him nothing is impossible.

Dallas Buyers Club (film critique) By Cesar Reyes Torres

This film is a story that is layered in three different dimentions. On one side it's about AIDS in the 1980s and finding a way to help treat those infected with the virus and the discrimination they faced in every  aspect of there lives. The other side of this story is about a healthcare system that is not setup with common sence laws that will allow people to find treatment for themselves when there sick, by any means possible. But who instead must crawl through a maze, and wait to be called on to possibly receive some sort of relief. The last side of this story is my favorite, and that is that this is a story about our humanity's resolve to simply not roll over and accept the circumstances we are facing. The main character in this movie Ron Woodroof ( Matthew McConaughey) comes across as a guy who is so stubborn that he literally smiles back at the grim reaper and says "not yet, so keep walking". Despite whatever opinions or beliefs you may have or where they originate from, Dallas Buyers Club is a movie that is worth seeing if you like great acting and really want to see Matthew McConaughey like you've never seen him before.
